This American Crow swooped in my yard and gave me a chance to get a couple of photos before he left.

CAW! CAW!
Nice shots, but you chopped of the poor bird's tail.
I see these all the time so I never take any photos.

I had a murder in my yard this morning raising a ruckus. I counted 15 but they kept leaving the big tree and flying back. We normally have 2-3. A group of them is called a murder.

There have only been a few (maybe 4-6), that I've seen here in the past few years. I don't think I'd like a bunch (murder) of them hanging out in my yard! I only had seconds to photograph this one; first I've seen that actually came into the yard; usually they hang out in the open fields.

I have crows and Ravens in my ear all the time, but they never let me get images. They fly away if I even move inside the house.

Very nice shots, he's a handsome bird, Carol! He certainly posed nicely for you!

I used to enjoy watching the crows in my yard. I'd feed them and they'd come every day. For some reason, they stopped coming years ago and now I can't get them to come back. Have tried putting out cracked corn, peanut butter crackers , all kinds of stuff. I would love to be able to photograph them. I think they have such personalities.

Norm, this one also was very skittish; I only got a couple of seconds to get these shots before he spooked & was gone. I enjoyed seeing him, and being able to capture him as best I could!

Thank you Lori! I feed the smaller birds, but have never had a crow come into the yard. Perhaps curiosity, or maybe for a drink at the birdbath. Hope he comes back!

This is the dominant one checking on its mate. I had been trying to get his wings for sometime because they are so "moth eaten". The bottom corner shows his wings from the top.

Here you can see how his feathers are bare quills.
