Nurburgring 1000 KM 1966
Lens: Super Takumar 55mm f/1.8 Camera: Pentax SV Photo Location: Germany

Some shots fro the 1000 Km of the Nurburgring in 1966. Scans of Kodachrome slides.

The entrance to the Nurburgring in 1966. Just drive right in.

Crowd on the hillside. The only way to watch motorsports. Don't know why those two guys are standing on the track.

Ferrari No 1, John Surtees.

Ford GT No 44, Innes Ireland.

Porsche v Ferrari.

Fiat-Abarth No 31.

And the winner! Jim Hall's Chapparal 2D, Phil Hill. The first American car to win at the Nurburgring.

Wonderful pictures of vintage times at Nurburgring. You took some excellent photographs with that 55 mm Tak lens. Some cropping required with those cars on the track ? Those Chevy V8 powered Chaparrals were extremely fast and innovative racing sports cars.

I would of loved to be at Nurburgring at this race. Wonder if time traveling works.

Great photos and memories for you, the colour stood up well on the Kodachrome. Cheers

Wonderful stuff, once again. Thanks for sharing your memories and stirring up some dormant ones in many of us. Great to be able to see the cars without having to look through the advertising, too.

The one of the Porsche and Ferrari was cropped a little. The shots of the individual cars were full frame with a 55mm lens! Try that a a track today!
