Durlston Bay, Dorset
Camera: Pentax K7 Photo Location: Purbeck, Dorset, UK ISO: 100
Posted By: mcgregni, 04-22-2016, 01:38 AM

A continuation of my 'survey' of the coastline in Purbeck, Dorset ... this small bay, Durlston, sits between the deeper Swanage Bay and the rough exposed coastline to the southwest beyond Durlston Head. The head has great views from the small castle, now a 'Jurassic Coastline Visitor Centre' with its balcony cafe and turreted stonework. There are walks around the headland as well.

All shots with the K7, most at ISO 100, and lenses as listed with the shots .....

Nice pictures! My f 35-70 flares very much in front of the full sun... Yours how it behaves? Thank's!

Thanks. Yes, light from the front can be an issue with the F35-70. I always use a third party petal shaped hood which helps, and generally I find with that the lens is very contrasty and copes well. I rarely shoot wide open with it. These ones are all taken at around F8 - F11, which also helps. Indoors with flash at F6.3 the lens is superb at 70mm and has saved me spending a lot more money on a dedicated Portrait lens, although I'm shooting with a black background, so a small DOF is not so important.
