Alone in the sun

This particular grass plant is very plain and uninteresting until it flowers. Then it transforms. Thanks for viewing.

It looks like a Columbine. They are very photogenic and you did a lovely job of showing that. Thumbs up.
Took a picture of one in our yard yesterday. Hoping to post it later this afternoon.

Thank you Susan and DW58 for your very kind words. This little plant is an Australian native grass called Dianella - revoluta ( blue flax ). It forms a little clump 30-40 cm ( 12-16 inches ) high and 30 cm ( 12 inches ) wide. Some people mass plant it, and seeing a carpet of these flowers is quite impressive.
