Desert Flowers
Posted By: bakerking31, 04-25-2016, 12:22 PM

I took this on Saturday on a hike near Mecca Hills in the southern CA desert. I just got the Pentax 100 2.8 and am having a difficult time with it. It's a bit of a learning curve trying to get the focus right on such close shots hand held with the wind moving the subjects lol.

If the plant is small enough, the shade screen for your car front window works. I have one that is silver on one side, it even works as a fill reflector if you have an assistant handy.

Thanks, I'm really liking this lens. Here is a northern desert iguana I found on the same hike.

I like both the flowers and the iguana. You captured lots of lovely detail in both and the softness of the colors surrounding the flowers appeals to me.

That lovely pastel high key background and the placement of the in focus flower in the foreground make this a wonderful visual feast for me.
I, also, will join the queue to find the secret of macro, handheld, wind stopped flower shot.
