Nice.
Not only impossible on the Z-axis, but 'impossible' with the DA*300 too, allegedly.

Very impressive pictures. The pose in #1 is the best altought the blue sky in the fifth and sixth adds nicely to the sharp bird.

It was at a small lake/pond that he frequents to find fish to eat. I didn't lure him in at all. This was his natural feeding behavior- and he put on a show for about 5 minutes.

Yeah, clearly the DA*300 was struggling to keep up :roll eyes: Its funny, I had the Tokina AT-X 400 5.6 AF before the DA* and it is gereally held as a fast focusing crew drive lens in pentax mount... my DA* 300 is at least as fast but somehow people consider it "slow"??? Its not lighting, but far from slow IMO

Yessir. AF-C. 25 points in select mode. AF hold on medium.

I set up a User mode for BIF and wanted to know: is 25 points "better" than 9 points, specifically for birds which are farther away than those you are posting here?
Cheers!

It's a bit like the saying "Pentax can't do Red"...

Just wee look at some Rose images from eaglem...

So basically between the two of you, that's all the known Pentax shortcomings disproved.
