Grandaughter with a Water Hose - A Simple Summer Delight
Posted By: Sailor, 07-13-2008, 08:46 AM

One of the great aspects about being 3 and 1/2 years old is the tremendous joy produced by the simple things in life - like a water hose. Yesterday evening, our grandaughter, Claire, was deleriously happy spraying the house, me and my wife in random order. Here are some shots of the "event"; all were taken with K10D (ISO 400) and DFA 100/2.8.

Those precious moments are the reason why cameras are so important.

I sure hope that she wasn't tempted to test her grandfathers cameras weatherproofing.

Exactly what cameras are for, Stu. She was tempted, but succeeded only slightly and both body and lens came through with flying colors.

Thanks, JIMBO. She can now move so fast, I find it hard to photograph - I was lucky to get these.

Thanks, Techno - Minx is the perfect word for Claire . . . and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thanks, Ben. I think they're keepers, as well.

For anyone that doesn't have kids I post the following only for a comparison between boys and girls. Notice how Claire is dry and nary a hair out of place. now look at my 2.5 year old son.

Thanks much for the kind words. She is sweet, but like her mother (my daughter) she can show an edge or two once in a while.

Indeed, she was. Claire spent the night with us so her mom and dad could spend the night in Houston for an early morning triathalon. I don't think I've ever seen here so joyous as she was with the water hose - guess I know what to get her next Christmas.

Claire was dry, but she didn't spare her grandma - who ended up pretty drippy after all the fun.
