Highland Night In
Posted By: Kerrowdown, 05-07-2016, 01:41 PM

A Highland night in of coziness with a wee dram.

It's amazing the detail still captured from this quite dark scene.

Lovely photograph. The soft lighting, the subtle fluting in the lamp have an appeal.

Was it a dark and stormy Highland night....

I know you are a talented photographer so whenever I view one of your postings I know I'm in for something good. I don't know if the K1 has the ability to elevate a photograph but I suppose that is the hope one has when making such an investment. So you and the K1 together took this shot to a level where It looks as though I could reach out & turn the light off. Fantasmastic Kerrowdown!!

It's quite strange as it's the bulb that actually has the fluting on it, that gives rise to the subtle pattern on the shade.

Your starting to make the old Kerrowdown blush with talk like this.

Aye possibly... but up here we're more worried about Auld Nick and not Billy.

Here's the explanation...

There sat auld Nick, in shape o' beast;
A towzie tyke, black, grim, and large,

A couple of lines from Tam o' Shanter, a wonderful, epic poem from Burns.

The one I was thinking of went like this:

The night was dark and stormy
The Billy Goat was Blind
He backed into a barbwire fence
and scratched his Never you Mind!
