A Macro Shot From Today
Lens: HD-DA 35mm Macro Limited Camera: Pentax K30 Photo Location: Norway

Specie for me unknown, has spread from a garden I suppose.

composition

Not a criticism, nice photograph...but invariably, most of the flower pictures I see posted here are composed with the bloom towards the left side of the frame. Is that a sort of right/left kind of thing?

Lovely photo of a lovely garden flower - will agree with Kerrowdown's identification.

Interesting - I had not noticed that, but it seems you are correct. I tend to put flowers right in the middle, against all rules of composition...

I don't know, but I had to do it like this to cut away a disturbing black stem to the left.
