A short morning visit to Great Bear Recreation Area. I wasn't able to get out as early as I wanted to, so only spent less than 2 hours walking around.

As I was standing on the trail at the boundary between the shrub habitat and the deep woods habitat, this Ovenbird landed in a tree right next to me. Not more than 10-15 feet away. Got exactly 2 shots before it was gone.





Cooper's Hawk Broad-winged Hawk with its breakfast. Can't tell what the prey is. Hopefully a Gray Catbird...
