The second image is the first wild turkey that I've seen, this is a 100% crop image, taken with the DA 55-300. The image is much sharper than it appears here after the uploading compression. I am impressed with the 55-300. Both images at Badlands NP, which is a long day-trip from where I live. The first image was taken a little before sunset.

Very nice shots! Love the lighting on #1, and the turkey really shines in that grass! I have wild turkeys here. A few weeks ago they were right in my yard, and I loved seeing & photographing them!

I also use the 55-300, with a Tamron 1.4 TC, and absolutely love it!

Beautiful shots, the 55-300 is highly underrated. I still have mine. Sometimes the 60-250 is just too heavy or I just do not want to take it. On these trips it is the 55-300 and the 18-135.
