A day at the zoo.
Lens: DA*60-250 Camera: K3 Photo Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Posted By: Scorpio71GR, 05-16-2016, 05:25 PM

I decided to spend a day at my local zoo. I had not been there in years. I took only the DA*60-250, Tamron 1.4TC, and the K3 along with me. The lens, tc, and K3 all performed flawlessly. Here are a few shots from that day.
Tom turkey 98mm

As I was leaving spotted this guy and had to shoot almost into the sun. Shot at f5 to see how the lens could handle flare almost wide open. 250mm

Great Hornbill 250mm

Who can resist the otters? 250mm

Indoors poor lighting, 250mm ISO1000 f5 1/20s handheld +1 for the K3 SR.

Sleeping Sloth 60mm f4 ISO3200 1/30s handheld

98mm f6.3 ISO2500 1/30 I really should push the K3 ISO higher. I am really impressed with how the 60-250 handles indoors.

Finally one with the Tamron 1.4TC. Had to manual focus, not enough light to lock on auto. 350mm f8 ISO200 1/400s. The downside to the Tamron 1.4TC is that it does not transmit proper focal length for SR so I keep the shutter up when I use it.

I see now why so many people praise this lens so highly.

I agree, the DA* 60-250 and K-3 are a wicked combination. All tack sharp images, very well taken.

Great series of shots. I have the same combo but haven't used them together as yet. Can't wait now to give it a try. The 300 can be too much lens at times especially with the TC attached.

The 60-250 is the lens I take when I want to do some serious work. Thank you for the comments.
