Few more from today. Was thrilled to see the Spotted Towhee once again. It must be pretty rare here, as this is only the 2nd time I've seen this beautiful bird.

#3 Mountain Chickadee

Nice shooting Carol. I don't have any mature trees in the common area behind my house so I don't get to see many birdies.

Thanks Steve! When we bought this place in 1988, I went up on our back acreage and dug up and transplanted 5 evergreens. They were about 2' tall. They now loom way over the roof of the house!! So glad I did that. I also transplanted cedar bushes.

Around our house Spotted Towhees are fairly common. We see the Western Bluebird occasionally but have no Mountain Bluebirds. Wish we did. Beautiful bird. TFS.

They must be fairly rare here, never have seen one until this one showed up a couple of days ago; and it's not even listed in the Birds of the Northern Rockies book

The Mountain male bluebird is so vivid in coloring; you can spot them quite a distance away, love having them around!

There are Mountain Bluebirds here in Oregon from the crest of the Cascades east. According to "Birds of the Willamette Valley".
We live on the west side of the state. Love Montana. Wife and I grew up in Wyoming.

I lived around Rock Springs for a few years, when I was a very young child; then moved to my beloved Montana.

Ahhhh, Rock Springs Wyoming. Garden spot of the Rocky Mountains. Where the wind never blows.
We grew up in Jackson. Wife was born there. My parents moved there when I was 11. We both had moved away years before it became what it is today. Her family moved in 1975 and I left in '88. We met again here in Oregon in 2000. While living there I took many a road trip to different areas of Montana. Always enjoyed it.

Hoping to get a lens with some reach before too long so I can do some birding. Have seen so many nice shots here on the forum. Last month the tranny went out in the truck so I've had to put a lens purchase on the back burner for a bit.
