Well I put the Bigma thru its paces this past Sunday at the AMA Motocross Championship (Race 6 of 12) at Budds Creek Motocross Park, La Plata, MD.
The lens really showed it's versatility and handled very well on the Manfrotto 680 monopod equipped with the Manfrotto Tilt Head.
It also exhibited an unexpected capability. I was heading toward the ticket gate when I was approached by a race crew member who asked if I had purchased my ticket yet. I replied that I hadn't and he asked me to follow him. He escorted me to the rider/crew and media tent where he gave me a free pass. He explained that his team had a spare pass and that he had been looking for someone to give it to. His main aim was a "hot chick" to give it to but when he saw the Bigma his thought was "lets give it to the guy with the big ass lens". I laughed and said I hoped that was it because I sure as heck do not qualify as a "hot chick". I made sure I got his number and made a special effort to shoot his rider (#395) and plan to send them some prints in appreciation.
The first 8 shots were shot with the K10D and the Bigma while the panning shots were done with the K110D and the Tamron 28-75mm.
