Hiking back to Glacier Point parking lot along Pohono Trail in Yosemite on the 1st day of the Memorial long weekend. It's raining and thundering in the direction of Tuolumne Meadows, the sky is turning ominous............

What an amazing shot of an amazing location. The sky and light are so powerful - sure hope you safely escaped the storm!

The clouds and the light on the Half Dome is beautifully taken. Thank you for sharing.

Great shot.

I must admit this is the kind of sky I always look for... as it brings so much more to the final image.

Thanks, Mole. I came back to Glacier Point and took more pictures, then it rained for around 30 seconds after I returned to my car. I always carry a Gortex with me hiking around, no worry though.

When I came out from the forest and saw this scene, I knew it was what I had been looking for. I stepped up onto a rock and took this picture.

Photographing is a way to caress your soul and satisfy your imagination, now I know.

Now that's quite a statement, good for you.

Note to self, "find soul (try in cupboard) and take it with me when I photographing".

Wonderful shot. The lighting, clouds and the rain falling in the background all make it for me.

I like the contrast between sun on Half Dome and stormy skies. Beautifully taken.
