Mono Lake
Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Mono Lake, California

I was disappointed that there was wind the day we visited Mono Lake so I could not get shots of the incredible reflections that I had hoped for. But I can visit again someday. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Thanks for commenting. It's an incredible place. It started raining on us - so glad I had my trusty Pentax and WR lens!

Interesting landscape indeed. I like the first shot the best.

In a way, I think you might have ended up with a better visit and photos. The clouds are so dramatic, and they didn't block the view of the mountains. It's a win win. I like the last three photos best, but that's mostly because I feel like a shot of Mono Lake isn't complete unless you get the Tufa's into the photos.

Nice shots.

Nice job; that area can be almost overwhelming to photograph sometimes.

I especially like the second image; the clouds seem to explode out of the tufa column. And it gives almost an impression of it rising out of the ground. Appropriate I guess for such a volcanically active area, although tufa is formed rather differently....
