A wild horse taking a mudbath. Besides being the rage in beauty treatment, the dried mud keeps the insects from biting and stinging.

The horse got up and wandered away shortly after this. Maybe for a pedicure or something.

Maybe I should try this next time I am in the heat and bugs! Of course the wife would not like the "gamey" smell! Nice little sequence.

Wild horses are pretty smart. When it's wet the insects can be absolutely miserable. And when I go for a wallow in the mud, I just tell the wife that I was testing the famous Pentax weather resistance. After all these years of me wandering around the desert for days at a time, she's used to my gamey smell. I'm glad you enjoyed the pics, everyone.
