Weird. I was walking along a path by a lake and there was a fish skeleton. Nothing unusual about that. But, then I noticed that it was covered with butterflies. They would come and go, but there was always about 4 or 5 on it with the usual flies. Never knew butterflies were carnivorous.

We expect better of lovely butterflies but this is normal behaviour.

Not carnivorous, though. They are saprophagus: consuming decaying organic matter.

I don't know... I was trying to get a close-up of their tiny fangs when it looked like they noticed me and were about to charge! I barely got away!!!! :-)
