Meditation on a Metal Juicer
Lens: Pentax-M 100mm f/4 Macro Camera: Pentax MX
Posted By: oculus, 06-03-2016, 01:14 PM

Film: Kodak 400 TMAX
Developed in 1:1 solution of D-76 at 70 degrees with gentle agitation for 11 minutes.

A bit of photomacrography (as I think they used to call it). This coldwar era metal juicer worked well as a macro subject. What design and engineering! I like to say that it is the secret to my margarita. I had to use a tripod with this one, as the light and desirable aperture values necessitated shutter speeds of 1/60 and 1/30.

I agree. Such care and attention to engineering and design on a juicer of all things. Nice images!

Ha, another bloody eschaton fails to immanentize...I preferred the all-too-brief J.G. Ballard intro.

Ha! Sneaky I regretted the voice. Your idiolect always reminds me of an old dear undergraduate professor of mine, a Roman archaeologist and philologist who (happily) took ill in Rome one summer and died. From him I learned Petronius, Campari, and a kind of benevolent dismissiveness that has proven more useful than the other two by far.

I'm honored, though I'm afraid what little learning I have extends only to Virgil--not the best of role models in this decidedly Horatian ("Lucan-sian" in my darker moments) age.

The one with the cross shape made me think... "I guess one can find religion in the kitchen." Its amazing what you can find without even leaving the house.
