Someone asked , do I ever take pictures of the falls.
Lens: DA*200 2.8 and DA 18-135 Camera: K-3 Photo Location: Niagara Falls, Canada

Well, since you asked I could take a few....

Before I get back to doing what I do.

Notice the American Falls don't come with rainbows, like the Canadian ones.

So you do take pictures of the falls as well as taking pictures of people taking pictures of the falls... I was wondering.

And that last comment is great

Great photos of the awesome power of the falls, and of the incredible crowds as well. Was this Memorial Day weekend, or is this just a typical summertime crowd?

That was the same many years ago when I was there too, a strange phenomenon that.

The first time I remember going to the falls, I was living in Toronto, one of my buddies says let's g to The Falls. Four of us hopped in his dads station wagon and off we went. I'm sure a lot of these folks are just like we were. Any time the weather is nice, like it was th last few days, there are crowds.

It's a gay pride thing.

Since we come here twice a year or more, and walking to the falls is one of the things I always do, they've become less special as a subject of photos. I used to take them very seriously. Set up a tripod, try and get everything perfect. Now I just hang over the edge somewhere and let SR do it's thing.

Yesterday the crowds were decent. The rip off artists charging 5 dollars for an ice cream bar or a bottle of water were doing great business.

I beg to differ.

It's a little soft due to the mist on the lens - love that WR lens and camera.

In all seriousness, great photos.

Thanks, yours must be the exception that proves the rule. ( I never understood that one, how does an exception prove a rule?" How do you know there isn't another exception, and another?)

Some very nice shots. I've seen the vapors from the falls while transiting the Welland Canal around Lock 7 in Thorold. The scene is quite spectacular when the falls are lit up at night, especially in winter.

I've never produced niche images that do it justice.
