I do like the 16/9 here since it lets you emphasize the elongation of the ray florets on the left side of the frame--a nice bit of defamiliarization, since it's the disk-flowers that usually hog all the glory. You could even commit an act of Modernism and bisect the disk itself with the right-hand margin, to get the point across.

Ha, that's my biggest challenge--"seeing" compositions that aren't defined by my K5's native aspect ratio. (That's especially true for shots in portrait orientation, which often seem too narrow for my tastes when I get them home.) You'd think I would have learned to leave a "fudge factor" by now, but perhaps it's as Elliot said of Henry James, that my sensibilities are just too fine to be violated by an idea.
