light trails and sunset
Posted By: pasih, 07-16-2008, 12:27 PM

The sky looked dramatic with all the colors and i went to take some shots. I realized how handy a zoom can be... for compositions. I need to upgrade my zoom thou... maybe the da17-70

these are taken with 18-55mm kit zoom... the first version

1st: 3.5s, f29, 24mm ISO100 with tripod

2nd: 1s, f16, 28mm ISO100 handheld

what do you think of them?

edit... wow those attachment are being compressed quite heavily... i tried with links.

Nice perspective & angle on #1.
Lots of dynamic lines.
Consider Sigma 17-70 - well acclaimed zoom.

thanks.. and yes that Sigma looks nice too and is not too expensive. tamron 28-75 is seems to be great too. I really need a little longer zoom than 50mm ... but the wide-end should be 28mm or wider

I have the 17-70. Sometimes I forget that I have it, because the 18-55mm is a fine lens too that does not interfere with the system flash. But when I take the 17-70, I am always pleased with the results.

Tosi hienoja molemmat otokset! Itselläni on tuo Tamron 28-75, mielestäni erinomaisen hyvä objektiivi. Minulla olisi tarvetta laajemmalle putkelle, joten seuraavana listalla on Pentax DA 12-24, kunhan saan raavittua tarpeeksi rahaa kokoon.

Ja zeg! Als we allemaal in onze eigen taal gaan kletsen, is er voor de buitenwacht geen bliksem meer te beleven!

(Hey, come on! Let's keep the conversation in English! Else there is no fun for the rest of the world!)

Sorry Syb, it just feels so funny to write a comment to a finn in english. (And maybe some of you gets interested in studying finnish... or maybe not).

Translation (bad one):

"Both of them are really fine shots! I have that Tamron 28-75, wich I think is an excellent lens. I would (also) need a wider lens, so next in my list is Pentax DA 12-24, when I have managed to gather money enough."

Kiitos... ite ajattelin että odottelisin sitä 15mm limitediä, joka on tulossa, maisemia varten... täytyis eka saada rahat ees tohon perus-zoomiin

(translation = thanks, I thought that I'd wait for the upcoming 15mm limited for landscape work... first I need to save some money for a basic zoom)
