Lapwing and Black-winged Stilt with Sigma 500/4.5 · 02:21 PM

The Lapwing is a fairly common bird in The Netherlands, but it certainly makes for a good subject!

The Black-winged Stilt is not that common though. In fact this is the first time I've ever seen this bird (I was not a birder, mind you, so I have probably not looked hard enough

)

This bird is still a work in progress as he/she is very hard to approach. More to follow in the next days

Thanks for posting. I like the second stilt shot best. Those birds look so fragile.
