I only see one head shot, and it is cut off at the crown of the head. The lighting is kinda nice though.

Regards,

It's a nice posed angle ... This is what we call 'short lighting' isn't it? You've created plenty of contrast on the off-light side so there's good depth. The only thing I'd be concerned about is the quite prominent light spot rather unfortunately placed on his forehead ...I wonder if this could be more controlled, either with less intensity or a softer light somehow?

For a man you'd often go with the flash on the other side (broad lighting), but I like this, Blacknight!

Thank you all!

I did take a few with broad lighting, but my eye was more drawn to short lighting. The crop is a creative decision that mimics the Peter Hurley look. I personally like the feel of the image better when the subject's face is jammed into the frame. The light was a bit harsh on his forehead, but I it doesn't kill the image for me. I will be looking for this in my next shoot.I will probably pull back the power on my flash or use a bit of powder to minimize the shine.

Hurley normally lights with a less 3D look rhan yours - a flatter, more Hollywood glamour look, lit from below as well as above.

Yours has got nice drama with the negative space and those highlights/shadows, a bit more like the other F-Stoppers guy, whatever his name is.
