finally got back to the race track to take some pics for my friends at a track day. purchased a da*200 over the winter specifically for this and it seems to be working very nicely for this application. my 50-135 is on screw drive and has a hard time keeping up, but the 200 with sdm has no trouble at all (panning sideways, not shooting head on obviously)

the camera really liked this guy. it seems that bikes without too much black and bright leathers help in producing nice crisp focus from the camera. hardly surprising really
