That looks like stone cladding... that was all the rage back in the seventies.

yeah it does, is part of a park area, like an old ranger station or some such

I believe so.

There are a number of euphemisms in use in English-speaking N. America. Restroom, washroom (Canada), bathroom and toilet are the most common. I can't remember ever seeing one labeled "WC". In the context of roadside facilities, rest stop and comfort station are generally understood with the implication that there might be potable water and maybe even a place to walk around and stretch the legs. In my region many also offer free coffee (donations accepted) and traveler's information.
