Had a chance to photograph a local Chiropractor. He needed photos for his website and I was happy to take these for him. I am starting to grow this side of my business.

Hope you managed to get some in his professional "white coat" type attire as well as these informal shots.

cropping top of the head is a trend now (Peter Hurley's style, maybe ?) the crop is usually very tight so viewers only focus on the head

Aye he of "Shebang" fame... in Scotland, no I can't even begin to tell you on this family forum, what folk thought I meant when I said that.

Let it be said, that style certainly did not work for me, too many folk just said what sort of photographer are you? you've cut the top of my head off.

I'd say his photos are not that bad, at least he got beautiful models to "bang"... I mean.. to shoot ^_^ and I hate the 4 catch-lights in his photo but the lighting is really nice.

Is it critique section now?
I like the head cut in first image, it makes sense with that perspective, imo.
Nice work, but chiropractor looks like local politician, or blue color manager.
How about some "medical looking" attire? White shirt at least?

I am kinda surprised by the Hurley crop hate. Personally, I think this works for a profile photo. Obviously the crop doesn't work for every application. I give my subjects both a non-cropped and a cropped photo so they have options. At any rate, thanks for offering up your opinions. I probably won't stop what I am doing since my clients enjoy it so much.

Wow, the uncropped version is SO much better than the crop one not that I hat Hurley, just in this case, the crop version is not as great at the original congrats on your works, if the client is happy, he'll come back for more !
