Abstract Locked In Love

Crossing a footbridge on a cold winter's afternoon I came across this pledge of enduring love. It struck me as quite poignant given the bleakness of the day and the fact that it stood a good distance away from a cluster of hundreds of others. Whoever Steph and Jarrad are I wish them all the best!

Do you think it's too late to save Jarrad?

Gradually seeing more and more of these around various cities in the world, not actually sure where it all started from.

Looking at the rust on the lock's loop I'd say it's way too late! I've got an idea it all started in Paris (where else?!). I saw a news item where locks had to be removed because the sheer weight of numbers was endangering the structural integrity of the bridge.
