Wood built, under sail, into storm brewing conditions... proper sailing.

Di I use an insulting term? I meant that little boat they tug behind.

oh no, I was just being a dork hehehe, if you may have have thought it was insulting it's not , but sometimes if you call someone "dingy" it's like saying they're a bit goofy, quirky, a little bit "off" in a nice way

That explains why they call them dingy. Fits pentaxians too.

Great shot! And that kind of sailing is certainly scarier than it looks.
??? Looks like just a good sailing day... Boat's running downwind quite nicely, no waves worth worrying about, sails well trimmed and the boat's in fine shape. Sure, it might rain on them, but that's why they're in raingear

Or do I have different standards for "good weather"? I do live and boat up near Seattle...

Spoken like a real sailor, I'm sure these folk were having a great day out.

I wouldn't really even count myself as a sailor - I just take my kayak out a lot in conditions easily matching what's shown... I would love to add sailing to my repertoire, though And up here in the Puget Sound area, I do have a lot of opportunity to witness 'interesting' boating conditions

Very cool - pushing wing-and-wing with a reefed main before a healthy breeze - brings back memories.

Terrific photo - I like the rich color and I also like the fact that you gave the boat some "running room" on the left side of the picture.

A proper sailor at last, with all the correct jargon.
