Bull Frog
Lens: Sigma 150-500 Camera: K-3 ISO: 100 Aperture: F6.3

Thought I would try the Sigma 150-500 instead of the FA 80-320 to get some bull frog pics, I think they came out better. These are hand held, noway to set up a tri pod without scaring the frogs away.

All I have done was some cropping and lens correction in Lightroom then converted to jpg.

Fine portraits of a big old frog! Color and composition are spot on. Wonder if it would have been worthwhile to bump up the ISO so you could used a faster shutter speed, smaller f-stop and maybe get a shade sharper results?

PS - I often use tripod with frog portraits without scaring them. Trick for me is to have the tripod already set up before approaching the subject, and just go slowly... On the other hand, although I have plenty of green frog, pickerel frog, chorus frog, gray tree frog, etc. snapshots, I have yet to get a good Bull Frog photo. So maybe they are just more skittish...

I really would like to use my K-1 and DA 560 with a tri pod but I take these when I'm at work and that combo would be a little to big to carry around. I will have to try a higher iso with the K-3 and Sigma lens and see how it works.

He is a handsome devil for sure. I managed to get some pics of a bullfrog once but find them terribly difficult to find much less shoot. I don't know how you and mole manage it. Maybe I am lacking in the patience department.
