Perth is a beautiful little town with a gorgeous park.

That's some beautiful scenery! Those shots look awfully soft, though. Unless that's some sort of filter effect, I'd speculate that there might be something wrong with the lens.

Hello Adam,

Thank you for your comments! The scenery was beautiful, but the day was dull and gray, so the pictures looked flat and boring. I tried to bring some light out using a sort of Orton effects effect, hence the soft look. Maybe I should try a dark, Hansel and Grettel kind of look instead...

That brings back s ton of memories.
I lived in a 100 year old log farm house 4 miles outside of Perth. I've turned up at that spot in the river with a half ton loaded with 15 teenagers for a hot August Day swim....That would be 40 years ago now. Thanks for posting.

The big question for us here in Ontario, why is the town of Perth so far from Perth County?

Perth is definitely a Scottish heritage town Kerrowdown. The man at the hardware used to ask how my "wee lad" was when I came in for supplies. I'm sure you'd feel right at home there. I have to assume some of the inhabitants were from the original Perth. It's a new Perth in more than just name.

Oh, so you have the rough draft then while we have the masterpiece

Any advice on how to deal with these dark grey skies which make everything look so flat? Make them darker and more brooding?
