Loving the Pentax 100mm 2.8 macro lens · **8 Likes**

I have been very impressed with this lens using it hand held for most of the shots below. Shifting to manual focus on the fly has helped secure more good shots.

I think I ordered Photodiox, but any are OK. You can put a bit of beeswax on the thread if it seems a bit tough to turn. The flash should work just fine on the 50mm, you'll have to do some experimentation of course. Does your Sunpak come with the Pentax module?

More non-macro but with this lens hijacking:

The chickadees like to drink water from the ant moat in the hummingbird feeder. The hummingbird would prefer they didn't. f2.8 at dusk in building shade but I more or less got away with it.

The contrast of this beautiful flower in the midst of a tangle of rough foliage struck me as a fit subject to capture with the superb 100mm macro. I used the TAV setting on the K-3 to get both the ideal depth of field I wanted and the control of any camera movement, as this was hand-held.

If that's the A series 100/2.8, be wary of reflections off the rear element.

Nope, it's the SMC-D FA WR version.

Yup. Nice lens. I had to buy one because of sensor reflections on the A series lens. It's one of the better macro lenses out there.
