VI Pujada a Alp 2500 / 1r Rallysprint de la Cerdanya 2016
Camera: Pentax K5
Posted By: red5isalive, 08-10-2016, 02:52 PM

Dear friends, some days ago there was this uphill event in the Pirinees, in a small town named Alp. Such a beautiful spot, and great place to run away from the hot weather and the humidity of a city like Barcelona, in Alp temperatures where very nice, and there was no bad humidity, plus luckily we had some air moving around. It was the perfect weather, and so the motorsport was quite good also!

Let me share some photos of that event, almost all in the same place as you couldn't move much where I was located.
Hope you like them, some of the cars where quite awesome,

How can they drive and co-drive without seing a thing?

No doubt the BMW's where the more spectacular to watch.

Your K-5 is serving you well. I like the distinction you've depicted in the cornering attitudes between the rear-wheel drive BMWs and the front-wheel drive Renault and (?)Seat.

It does! I can't stop enjoying it
Thank you! Yes they are a Renault Clio Williams I believe, and a Seat Ibiza KitCar (that car did the WRC championship I believe, but painted in yellow)

Great pix. You had some very good photo spots chosen.

The battery draw with all those headlights on the first rally car must be enormous. Wonder how many batteries (at least 2 ?) and the alternator must have a lot of punch to keep it all charged up.

Thank you lesmore49, actually we where like 3 or 4 all over the place taking photos, looks like this was the spot.

I never wondered that, but yes you might be right, should be 2 at least

As Rob said, love to see them drift. Any vintage Subarus out there?

I like the rear-wheel lift on this one. I think that's a Citroën Saxo, but anyway the driver seems as if they may have mastered the art of left-foot braking to induce a bit of oversteer in a FWD car. IIRC, it was Paddy Hopkirk who first did that in a Cooper S (the original).

Thank you lukelele
Yes it was fun to see them drift,

Sadly there where no Subarus but i would have loved to see them. Some old Mitsubishi Lancer, but that's it. That Seat Ibiza Kitcar and no more ex-WRC i believe.

Hi Damian, I used two lenses, this is why i didn't set the lens on the topic.

Most of the pictures are taken with the Pentax 16-45mm F4, for close ups (a bit even too large in the beginning of the lens I must say). And i also used the Sigma 100-300mm apo F4.

They both produce great images even tho the Sigma, to me, has more quality, is sharper.
