Great shot! Those little guys are so fast, I've only see a couple but have never tried photographing them, it's got to be a challenge.

Thanks all for the comments. These little guys whole bodies vibrate when they are hovering and feeding like that. It's even hard to stop the motion with a flash, I just try to get sharp focus on the head/eye area.

TaV ƒ5.6 and 1/2000s stops them pretty good.

They seem to spend all their time chasing each other and yelling...how such small birds can be so loud is amazing.

I'll miss them when they're gone, though. I need to get out there and get some shots.
