the third shot is the best of the bunch

and caliscouser, i agree that the k-3 can handle sports just fine, but cricket is a bit of a cheat, as for most shots the focusing distance isn't changing as the bowler and batsmen are playing at the crease...notice how there are no action fielding pics?

Colourful shots of a sport I didn't think you Americans really followed...

Mind you, you were watching two of the best exponents of the sport, in the guise of India and the WestIndies.

Looks like an International crowd...and there are nearly 3 million Asian Indians living in the US...

You can be sure that far fewer people in the US follow Cricket than follow football in any of its variations...

Even the pros struggle with fielding shots, except for slips and wicket keeper, because unless you have a camera focused on each player and take 400 shots of each one...

A photo of a catch at deep mid on is of little interest to anybody except the fielder

That can be easily explained... by the strange modus operandi and rules attached to the game of Cricket.

The first ever international cricket match was played in USA between USA and Canada in 1844. Unfortunately it never stayed in the US until now when the ICC realized its potential. Looking forward to more games in the United States.

Mohb is correct, its not easy to predict where the batsman is going to hit the ball. It would be more misses than getting any focussed shots for fielding or catching...

couldn't agree more...but my point was that saying that the k-3 is a great sports camera (and it is!) when you are shooting blokes standing at the crease is a bit cheeky.
