Paris on B&W film
Lens: M 35/2, M 50/1.4, M 85/2 Camera: Ricoh XR-M Photo Location: Paris, France ISO: 125

A few years ago my wife and I spent a few days in Paris and I really loved it. Since then I've been itching to get back and photograph it more, and wanted to do so largely on film. In the spring I tagged along as my wife went there on a business trip and spent the weekend with her and then three days on my own, wandering and taking pictures.

I took a Fujifilm X-M1 (with which I used various Pentax lenses), a Pentax 645 and a Ricoh XR-M, a very nice but little-known K-mount 35mm SLR from around 1987. I had a really great time just wandering and taking photos, especially on film. Using these old cameras and lenses is a real pleasure, far removed from shooting a digital SLR with auto everything, and in a beautiful place and not in any hurry it really is a fantastic experience.

I also admit to meeting up with Aurele from this forum to buy his DA 40mm limited and thereby complete my DA limited collection

Here's a (large) selection of pictures all taken with the Ricoh using Pentax M series lenses - I took the 35/2, the 50/1.4 and the 85/2. The film is all Ilford FP4+ and these were developed by me at home (in Ilfosol 3 if anyone's interested) and scanned on an Epson V500.

Great set Jonathan, I really like them all. B&W is perfect for Paris. I hope to get there in the next Year, and take your lead with some film. Good you were able to meet up with Aurele, too.

A fine selection of detailed images where the Ilford FP4+ has served you well.
