A Few Butterflies in the Evening
Lens: 55-300mm Camera: k-5IIs Photo Location: Robertsville, MO ISO: 1000 Shutter Speed: 1/1000s Aperture: F5

In eastern Missouri, the thistle comes to full bloom in mid- to late-August, and with the thistle come the butterflies.

These three photos were captured in the evening as the sun was going down, but still enough above the horizon to keep the sky blue. Enjoy.

2nd and 3rd shot are nice and sharp. I like the colors too.

All handheld. That's the reason for the high ISO - it allowed the fast shutter.
