Oooo pretty. I love the ocean too. My favs are 3 and 5. In three the horizon looks bent, or curved. Is that a trick of the light and haze, or from the lens?

Nice pics! The title of your thread caught my eye. I shot an interview with a well-known song writer who said he saw a lot of similarities between the prairie and the ocean. It was the sense of boundlessness in both that appealed to him.

Thanks Mel why that is the curavture of the earth my lens was so wide I would suspect it does indeed have to do with the light this was taken with the DA 16-50mm at 50mm f9.5, 1/1500 ISO 100 - maybe others can explain the physics. It does indeed look like a fisheye effect ...

Thanks TaoMass - I enjoy all types of Landscapes - as an airforce brat have lived near oceans , rivers , lakes - last 30+ years here in Alberta. Alberta has a great variety , parairies and the rockies. I do like the ocean but I am a good plane ride (or a 14 hour drive) away (but get to one ocean usually at leat once a year!)

very nice series dave. I couldn't be far from the ocean myself. Funny how we almost take it for granted while we are surrounded by it. but on a day like today 36C and humid, I would really like to get out of my home office (phone won't stop) and go for a swim. I really like number 3. great control of the light.

Nice shots Dave, I like number 3 although there are a few distracting marks I can see on the left hand side over the sea.
I've been here five and a half years and I haven't really done much of the touristy stuff. You guys who visit and post are helping me by doing the research. Thanks
Gary

The weather is so cold here that I could not even imagine what the ocean looks like or even smell like right now.

Great pictures as usual, Dave

Thanks Gary - North Beach was cool head towards the bridge and climb over a few rocks. Watch out for naked men who really have no buisness being naked haha.

Thanks James - it is so weird to hear you complain about the weather in July, it's like you are in winter on the other side of the world ... oh wait

Thanks Dave, I am definitely a ocean person, even if live by a much smaller Baltic See. I can smell that ocean air in these pics!
