Having driven an hour to miss the sunrise I took this shot a few minutes before my batteries ran out.

Have a great day!

What a lovely photograph. I really enjoy the reflection in the water and the sky is seemingly on fire. Very interesting and a real joy to view.

Many thanks,

Antonio

And you did very well. I have 3 batteries per camera so never have a flat battery problem.

So beautiful I love the contrast of the soft color and the rigidness of the building.

Hey, you got the shot, so the drive was worth it.
Very subtle colour palette too. For fun, have you looked at what colours you can pull out of the clouds/water (maybe a little more contrast)?

Hi Clarkey,
I took a few more shots after this one and the sky dramatically changed...I added more contrast with those so may put them up sometime. The softness of the colours of this image just made me feel sort of calm so I left them.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Peter

Beautiful Shot, well done indeed.

He's a bit of additional history on this location which may be of interest (source Wikipedia) "The building was once the private chapel for the Normanton Estate, but it was de-consecrated in 1970, and was to have been demolished as part of the reservoir construction, as its floor was below the proposed water level. Following a public outcry, the lower half was filled with stone and rubble, and a concrete cap constructed just below the level of the windows. An embankment was built around the church leaving it a prominent feature on the water's edge."

Fair enough - tranquillity indeed. Look forward to other images, should you post them. Hope you have a great weekend, too!
