Photographed at the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge, south of Prairie City, IA. They have a herd of 70 or so American bison, and you can drive through their grazing area. These were crossing the road. Shot was taken from about 10 feet away (from inside my vehicle).

Very cool! I was in Custer State Park in South Dakota last summer, it's incredible to see the buffalo herds up close.
