I'd go for the 1300mm one myself because it shows pretty good detail for that lens and because, to my eye, it shows how well the bird's colouring blends in with the background. The bird has the same colours in my neck of the woods but the backgrounds are quite different and it generally stands out like a sore thumb. How did you steady the lens, tripod or something else ?

Thanks, yes, I like the 1300mm shot best as well. I was considering which of the edits I made on the 650mm shot was better. The two on the bottom, are the same image, edited differently.

I used a monopod and a telephone pole to steady the lens for those shots. I usually use a spear when out in the field, but I was in a vehicle that had my monopod, and not my spear. :-)
