Sometimes these things just happen.

Also, in this image it looks like an ocean, but it's taken over the top of the falls.

Beautiful shot Norm. The water looks a lot rougher than last time I saw it in person too (I'm assuming it's Niagara Falls in the shot).

That's true Norm. But not many would see the opportunity and capture this scene. Great job!

Norm, this is one cool shot. I wish I could get just one good rainbow shot, but when spectrum sporadically unfolds in the sky, I always find myself camera-less.

How are you finding the K-1?

There is almost always a rainbow at Niagara Falls, caused by the mist over the falls.

The K-3 has attitude, the K-1 is just smooth.

And when they don't... there's Photoshop.

I would never stoop so low… well, not since the initial fascination wore off.

One of my first pictures of Tess was of her in a boat with another guy. I photoshopped off his head and put mine there. No hidden agenda there, honest.

Perhaps she never noticed and thought you were there originally all along.

No, we were talking about phoshop over dinner tonight, she reminded me, I had to think for a bit to even remember.

People are always reminding me of crazy stuff I do, that I don't remember. I do it, it's crazy, it's over. Other people remember these things years after I've forgotten.

When you do as much crazy stuff as I do, it's hard to remember it all.

One of my favorites.

A guy comes up to me, and says "I remember you, you were the head official at a track meet I ran in." I think really hard and... nothing. Slowly over the next couple of days it comes back to me. I worked for the parks and recreation department every summer for 5 years. One year they asked me to be the head official at their track meet. I'd never been any official at any track meet, in fact I'd quit on track before grade 8 because of my propensity for pulling muscles during races. I'd never even been to a track meet. Forget about being an official, but it sounded important so I said yes. I called a meeting for all the officials 30 minutes before the meet started, and with all assembled asked 'What am I supposed to be doing?" They explained it to me, I did it. I forgot it. One of the exhibition races was actually between a couple of guys vying for spots on the Olympic team, and I actually had to make a decision affecting the teams selection. Something I just passed over at the moment because I was so busy getting it right.

I remember one of my friends at the time shaking his head saying "Norm, you have to remember that stuff, that's resume material." I was like "oh, ya whatever." To me the important thing is "how many poor people did you help out today?"… and he answer is usually "Way to few."
