When nature calls
Lens: 10-20 mm Sigma Camera: K5IIs Photo Location: Englewood Fl. Shutter Speed: Above 6s
Posted By: charliezap, 11-11-2016, 07:44 AM

I got up around 5:30 AM for a nature call and noticed how bright the stars were above the pool area. With no tripod on vacation I propped the camera on a small table and took several 30 sec. shots.---charliezap

Uh...a nature call? In the pool area?!? I know "Everybody pees in the pool." but... Good thinking using a table or whatever is available for long exposures. I've used shoes, wadded up clothes, a bag of rice. Whatever gets the shot. I like the second image best. Did you realize that you caught (I suspect) an Iridium flare in the third image? In the third window from the top, right side is a streak of light. Possibly meteor but I'm leaning toward an Iridium flare.

I'd like to try it again but the moon is getting near full and many stars will be lost.--charliezap

but we pee because we are in the pool and are too lazy to get out, we don't go to the pool to pee…..

Sorry, I just had to finish the sentence…

That's real enthusiasm Charlie, I'm not sure I've ever taken a picture at 5:30 in the morning. I have to say, every now and then I wake up, can't sleep and I'm bored enough I could go take a picture, if there was a view like that.
