Winter in your country would allow for many other opportunities to try even more extreme contrast with the low sun and near darkness would it not? Blending two or more in post could be an option.

I only see anything close to this contrast for short periods at sunrise and sunset but lack the hills and mountains to dramatize it.
Thank you 1980 for good advice. I haven't used a filter yet, after buying the K-30. Later when I have come further in my photographic development I would try filters.
