Sorry, but one gets sucked in when you see it and you have a camera in your hand.

Nice photo, but I would like it more, if the red sail boat wasn't the main focus.

That's why I said "A typical oil painting motive dripping with commercial schmaltz".

Pictures of local Mountain Lakes on display in souvenir galleries along tourist shopping strips; I know from reliable sources will always sell better if there is a boat in the picture. (And nice clouds)

My cousin is in an arts school, and her teacher is known to comment on her work that she doesn't like by saying something like: "OK this is for the tourists..."

Now I know where some of the pictures which are sold to tourists come from.

It is one of the nicest places one can imagine, particularly the South Island, if only the frequent earthquakes would leave it alone.

But it has not stopped me from visiting this little Paradise as often as I can.
