An experiment
Lens: 560mm APO triplet scope Camera: Olympus E-10 m4/3

This was taken at about 800-900 feet as far as I tell from the map.

When you get to these distances air turbulence is the big factor and focal length not so much.
Anyway as an experiment I tried to see how good that little m4/3 sensor would stand up to some extreme cropping and PP.
Remember at this distance I needed binos to make out what was out there.

FF SOOC and about an 0.8mp crop with some added Photoshop "magic" thrown in for good measure.
