Got inspired by a post on DIY Photography about a "bokehlicious wall" that I wanted to try out. Happily Alicja was available with short notice when the original model was sick, turn out pretty well Always fun to bring out the old TAK's as well, these ones are with the S-M-C TAKUMAR 135mm F2.5 (first version) shot wide open for bokeh effect. Hope you like them!

Bokeh is really cool. It is so cool that even detracts from the girl)

Your lens performed well and your technique was also excellent but I have to agree with the others on the background. The bokeh is indeed awesome but the bright colors draw your eye away from the (very beautiful) model.

Of course, this is all subjective and a matter of personal taste. Photography is an art form and if you like the result, your model likes the result, then that's all that really matters. You did a fine job with the shoot and show a good example of what can be done with an old Tak.

Thank you all for the response! As a photonerd I can see the comments about the background making sense, but for "normal people" I don't think it is particularly distracting. Being a bit on short notice with Alicia, but the original theme was thought to be at a new years party or similar with a dress for such an occasion.

If the background is a bother you could de-saturate the red to lessen the impact and perhaps even do a light gaussian blur.

Gorgeous images and the model too, I'm not that lucky when I give "long notice" let alone "short notice"...

I definitely need to come over and hold a light stand or an umbrella or something for you.
