Base Jumpers - Snake River Canyon
Posted By: xs400, 07-31-2008, 12:33 PM

I was lucky to stop at the bridge going over the Snake River in Twin Falls, Idaho just when some base jumppers were about to go for it. It was pretty exciting to watch. I was told this is the only place in the US where base jumping is legal.
K100D + FA 80-320mm

The bridge

Jumper #1 goes for it.

Jumper #2 getting ready

Jumper #2 doing a flip

Jumper #2 opening shoot

Jumper #2 on the way to a safe landing on river bank

Indeed the right place = I don't think I'll do anything more than photograph the jumping, and definitely not being a participant!!!

Cool shots!

Cheers,
Marc

Thanks Dave. I would also like to do that. Just to see if I really have the nerve to jump.

I live just up the road from there (about 2 hours). I'm afraid of the trampoline in my back yard. Great photos.

errr ....why ???. Is the bridge about to fall over? Was it shaking? rocking? if not, why jump off it.

No thanks boys, leave that one all to you.

Nice.

The adrenaline kick from such a jump must be fantastic.
