Lighting Strike off the coast at Durban tonight!

Spectacular, was this image just one strike or a series of strikes?

Great shot. It really makes that main bolt look powerful. You even have some miniature starbursts within the bolt.

Did you use a lightning trigger, or just open the shutter until a good strike happened?

I set the camera on interval shooting every 13 seconds with the shutter open for 10 seconds at a time. My aperture was f/11, hence the star bursts.

lovely shot. I love lightning. took a few several years ago but not much lightning this year or last. Hard to get aren't they. but the interval trick does a nice job, that's what I usually use. Love the scene, makes for a very powerful comparison of human kind and nature. well done mate
