I have a drag plow behind my FWD Kia and an 11 HP snow blower. Bu I still have to shovel some. When you have 400 feet of laneway you need some toys.

We don't usually get this until after Christmas, we are having unusually cold temperatures right now.

The river never freezes near us. The water that comes over the dam is probably the warmest water on the lake, that day. We are maybe 1Km from the damn. But it's also the current.

Yesterday I put the pellet stove int eh basement on, cranked up the electric, stuffed the wood stove and cranked the heat up to 24ºC, just so I could fee warm for a while. That's what I have t do to remember what summer was like.

I understand completely Norm but I miss the sound of my ice skates touching ice whilst being in the 'zone'. Day to day problems pushed away by a nice cadans of moving legs and a landscape largely reduced to black&white until the sun sets in the clear, cold air. Hmm, I am starting to sound like a old fart whilst I am only 45 years of age...

It's never too early to start feeling old...
